The Bait Shop

***Fish are caught by GM randomness. On a bad day of fishing you'll normally catch about 3 fish. A good day about 5. A great day will be about 10. Also, certain baits may result in better fishing! Randomness happens all the time however. Buy here by posting. Fish by creating a seperate thread.***



An Old man with thinning hair sat in a lawn chair infront of his Bait Shop, which could only be called a shack. Infront of him was the Lake of Life, a beautiful and big lake. He sighed and breathed in the fresh air. He found his straw hat and put it on. Then found his pipe. He lit the pipe, but then peeped over it, was this a customer coming his way?




Worms (Trust me, the good-old fashion stuff works!)-5 gold to buy a day's worth.

Crickets (Chirp Chirp)-5 gold to buy a day's worth.

Plastic Worm (Last a long time, but I think the fish are use to it)- 20 gold, last forever.

Spinnerbait (Last a long time, and a pretty good bait)- 30 gold, last forever.

Ultra crankbait (Last a long time, and catches a ton of fish!) 100 gold, last forever.

Halgar was wandering around without much to do, his new bow slung over his shoulder. He had tried to look for more work, but none had made itself apparent. In lack of things to do and indeed, of money; he walked aimlessly around, eventually reaching a lake where some old guy was selling bait. The prices were a bit steep for Halgar's limited finances. He briefly contemplated simply stealing the bait, it wouldn't be very hard to do so, nor should it be hard making the old man shut up about it. But his human compassion forced him to put the idea aside, the man had to make a living to after all. Halgar reached into his coin purse and got out five coins, half his meagre fortune, and paid for some worms. As he sat down fishing, his hunter patience came to good use, for he was normally not fit for waiting like this, but by forcing himself to think of it as a hunt, he managed to stay put and alert.

Having gathered a few sticks, Halgar set up a small fire by the lake and set his Carp to fry over it. He walked up to the old man, bought some more worms and started to rig up his gear.

Halgar exited the dojo and started for the fishing spot once again. He was a bit disappointed the master wouldn't train him, but he other chances would make themselves apparent he was sure. He slammed his fist into the side of a tree in annoyance. He took a few minutes to compose himself, and when he once more walked towards the lake, he rubbed his hand at the pain. When he reached the fishing spot, he sat down his coin purse and took a spinner bait. He might as well have a bait that he could use over and over again instead of going by the old man to buy worms every day, though he was unsure how long he would spend in this place.

Arkanid paused, a small smile plastering his face as he beheld the Lake of Life. It was truely a place of beauty, and never failed to take his breath away.

Done with admiring the scenery, he trudged down the winding path to the old man resting by the shack, buying enough worms to last him the day. Fishing wasn't one of his favorite hobbies. But it was as a practical and relaxing way as any to take some time to think and organise one's thoughts. It took a bit of searching before he found a spot he was happy with but eventually he settled down by the lake's shore and cast his line into the it's shimmering surface.

And waited.
